Product Description

 

Capric Acid is a medium-chain fatty acid with 10 carbon atoms in the molecular chain. It is also called decanoic acid or C10 acid. Its molecular weight is 172.26. It is a white crystal at room temperature with an unpleasant odor. It is actually insoluble in water, but soluble in alcohol, ether, benzene, chloroform and carbon disulfide. It is also soluble in dilute nitric acid.

Application

It is mainly used to prepare capric acid ester products, and its esters are used as fragrances, wetting agents, plasticizers and food additives.
